Beta terms of use

The short version: a·mm·a is an information tool in testing, not a doctor. Use it alongside your midwife, obstetrician or GP, keep the beta between us, and tell us what you think.

Draft, subject to legal review. These terms cover the invitation-only a·mm·a beta. They have not yet been reviewed by legal counsel and may change before or during the beta. If we make a material change, we will tell participants in the app or by email before it takes effect.
  • Not medical advice

    a·mm·a does not diagnose, prescribe or replace your clinician.

  • Emergencies

    If you are worried about you or your baby, call emergency services or your maternity unit now.

  • Free and invite-only

    About four weeks, around 100 participants, no charge.

  • Leave any time

    Delete your account in Settings. No reason needed.

01About these terms

These terms are an agreement between you and Oyoma Consulting FZ-LLC (licence RAKEZ20254215, FDAM0524 Compass Building, Al Shohada Road, Al Hamra Industrial Zone-FZ, Ras Al Khaimah, UAE), which operates a·mm·a ("we", "us").

They apply to your use of the a·mm·a beta app. Before you receive your sign-in link you will be asked to accept these terms, the Privacy Policy and the Beta Participant Consent Form. Together these make up the full agreement for the beta. If you do not agree, please do not take part.

02Who can take part

To use the beta you must:

  • be 18 or over;
  • be located in the United Kingdom, the United Arab Emirates, Nigeria or the United States;
  • have received a personal invitation from us;
  • not be taking part mainly for commercial or competitive purposes.

Clinicians must also be registered with a recognised professional regulator in their country (for example the GMC, NMC, DHA or an equivalent body), and may be asked to confirm this.

Invitations are personal and cannot be passed on. There is no charge to take part.

03What a·mm·a is and is not

a·mm·a is an information and support tool. It helps you find answers to questions about pregnancy and the postnatal period, with each answer linked to named clinical sources such as NHS, RCOG, NICE and ACOG guidance.

a·mm·a is not a medical device and is not medical advice. It does not diagnose conditions, recommend or prescribe treatment, or replace your midwife, obstetrician, GP or any other clinician. Always speak to a qualified healthcare professional before making decisions about your health or your baby's health, and do not delay or ignore professional advice because of something a·mm·a said.

Answers are written by AI. They can be incomplete, out of date or wrong, and may not reflect your individual situation. Please check the linked sources, and check anything important with your clinician.

a·mm·a may decline to answer some questions. This is a deliberate safety feature, not a fault.

04Emergencies

a·mm·a is not an emergency service and is not monitored in real time. If you think you or your baby may be in danger, for example heavy bleeding, severe pain, reduced baby movements, a severe headache or thoughts of harming yourself, contact emergency services or your maternity unit straight away:

  • UAE: 998 (ambulance) or 999
  • United Kingdom: 999, or 111 for urgent advice
  • Nigeria: 112
  • United States: 911

If you describe something that may need urgent care, a·mm·a will show an escalation prompt pointing you to emergency help. This cannot be switched off. It is a safety net, not a guarantee that every urgent situation will be recognised.

05Your account

You sign in with a one-time link sent to your email address. There is no password. Please keep access to your email secure, as anyone who can open your email can open your a·mm·a account. Tell us straight away at hey@askmemama.com if you think someone else has accessed it.

Please give accurate information during onboarding. a·mm·a personalises answers to what you tell it, so inaccurate information may lead to less relevant answers.

06Using a·mm·a properly

Please do not:

  • use a·mm·a to make decisions about someone else's care, or enter another person's health information without their permission;
  • try to break, overload, reverse-engineer or get around the app's security or safety features;
  • try to make a·mm·a produce harmful, misleading or unlawful content;
  • copy, scrape or resell the app or its answers;
  • share your access with anyone else.

If you break these rules we may pause or end your access. Where it is safe to do so, we will tell you why first.

07It is a beta

You are testing pre-launch software. It will have bugs. Features may change, stop working or be removed during the beta, and the app may occasionally be unavailable. We provide the beta "as is" and do not promise that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or suitable for any particular purpose.

During the beta we may contact you for a short check-in, invite you to an optional 20-minute research conversation, and send a short exit survey. All of these are optional.

08Clinician participants

If you are taking part as a clinician:

  • you will test the clinician tools in a sandbox that uses synthetic, made-up patient records only;
  • you must not enter real patient information into a·mm·a;
  • you remain responsible for your own clinical judgement, and a·mm·a must not be used to make or support real patient care decisions during the beta;
  • your feedback on clinical accuracy is especially valuable. Please report anything you think is unsafe.

09Confidentiality

The beta is private. Please do not share screenshots, recordings or descriptions of the app, its features or its answers with anyone outside the beta without our written permission.

This never stops you from showing an answer to your own clinician, seeking medical advice about your own health, or reporting a safety concern to a regulator or other appropriate authority.

10Feedback and ownership

We own a·mm·a, including its software, design, content and brand. These terms give you a personal, non-transferable right to use the beta for its intended purpose while it runs, and nothing more.

Your questions and personal information remain yours. If you send us feedback or suggestions, you allow us to use them to improve a·mm·a without payment or attribution. We will not publish anything that identifies you without asking first.

11Leaving and the end of the beta

You can leave at any time, without giving a reason, by deleting your account in Settings › Delete my data or by emailing us. Deletion is immediate and permanent.

The beta runs for approximately four weeks. We will tell you in advance when access will end. We may end the beta early, or end an individual's access, for safety, security or legal reasons, or if these terms are broken.

When the beta ends, your access stops and your personal data is handled as described in the Privacy Policy. We will ask, separately, whether you would like early access at launch or to take part in future research. Both are optional.

12Our responsibility to you

Because a·mm·a is a free beta that provides general information and not medical advice, we are not responsible for decisions you make based on its answers, or for loss caused by bugs, interruptions or incorrect answers, to the extent the law allows.

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited or excluded by law. Nothing in these terms affects your legal rights as a consumer in the country where you live.

13Your data

The Privacy Policy explains what we collect, why, where it is stored and how to delete it. In brief: your data is stored in the UAE, the context needed to answer each question is processed by our AI provider and not used to train AI models, we never sell your data, and you can delete everything yourself at any time.

14Changes to these terms

These are draft beta terms and will be updated after legal review. We will show the version and date at the top of this page and tell you about material changes in the app or by email before they apply. If you do not agree with a change, you can leave the beta at any time.

15Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates as applied in the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah. If you live in the United Kingdom, Nigeria or the United States, you also keep the protection of any mandatory consumer laws where you live, and you may bring a claim in your local courts where the law allows.

If there is a problem, please talk to us first. We will try to resolve it quickly and informally.
